A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Position Summary:
The University of Dubuque is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across campus facilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the University by ensuring classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas are cleaned and maintained to high standards. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team and committed to supporting the mission of the University.Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness of campus buildings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to ensure a safe and sanitary environment Deep clean bathrooms- showers, stools, tile, etc.
University's Mission Skills and Abilities:
Ability to follow checklists and complete assigned tasks without close supervision Works well independently and as part of a team Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe environment Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel Ability to climb a 6' ladder Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of timeQualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent Driver's license preferred Current Openings (subject to change): Friday- Monday 5:00 am
