Job Description

Birdie Window Cleaning is growing. We're adding two technicians this July. We're a residential window cleaning company with 170+ five-star Google reviews, serving the nicest neighborhoods in the Des Moines metro. We have more booked work than we can handle, and this fall is our busiest season yet. What you'll do: You'll clean windows on residential homes. No cold calling, no door-to-door selling. You show up, do great work on beautiful homes, and go home. You'll start by training alongside the owner on every job. That's how you learn the craft, meet customers, and build confidence. The goal is for you to be running your own route by early fall. A typical day is 4-6 homes, doing exterior and interior window cleaning plus screen and track cleaning. No experience necessary.
We train you on everything:
technique, safety, equipment, and customer interaction. What you'll earn: This isn't a typical hourly gig. Your pay grows with your effort. $18/hr guaranteed minimum OR 20% commission on every job, whichever is higher 40% commission on any add-ons you sell at the house (screens, tracks, interior upgrades) 100% of tips are yours. Our customers are generous. $10 bonus for every five-star Google review that mentions you by name Come back next season and your commission rate goes up On a typical fall day running 4 jobs at $250-300 each, commission beats the hourly floor comfortably, before tips and bonuses.
What we provide:
All equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies Company vehicle once you've earned your own route Paid training working directly with the owner Steady Monday-Friday schedule, no weekends A straightforward job with real earning potential
Qualifications:
Reliable. Show up on time, every time. Physically able to climb ladders (up to 24 ft) and work on your feet all day Valid driver's license and clean driving record Able to pass a background check (you're entering people's homes) Positive attitude and comfortable talking with homeowners The schedule: Seasonal position, March through December. Winters are off, and techs in good standing get a written offer in December to return in March with their own route. Many people in this role do snow removal or other seasonal work in January-February. We're building toward a multi-truck operation in 2027, so there's a real path here, not just a season of work.
