A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Altius Clean is hiring two dependable team members for an after-hours school cleaning position in Nampa, Idaho.
We are looking to fill:
One Evening Cleaner position at $16 per hour One Evening Cleaning Supervisor position at $18 per hour Both positions are approximately 4 hours per night, 5 nights per week. This building has a large amount of carpet and flooring, so vacuuming and floor care will be a major part of the job.
Pay:
$16 to $18 per hour, depending on the position
Schedule:
Monday through Friday evenings Approximately 4 hours per night After-hours cleaning Exact start time will be discussed during the interview
Responsibilities:
Vacuum large carpeted areas thoroughly Sweep, mop, and maintain hard floors Clean restrooms, offices, hallways, entry areas, and common spaces Empty trash and replace liners Wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces Dust furniture, ledges, fixtures, and assigned surfaces Restock basic supplies as needed Follow cleaning checklists and building procedures Secure the building properly when finished
Supervisor Responsibilities:
The supervisor will perform regular cleaning duties while also helping lead the shift.
Additional responsibilities include:
Provide direction and support to the cleaner Make sure assigned work is completed properly Inspect completed areas for quality Coach and correct issues when standards are not met Communicate staffing, supply, maintenance, or building concerns to management Help keep the team organized and on schedule
Requirements:
Previous commercial cleaning or custodial experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred for the supervisor role Strong attention to detail Dependable and consistent attendance Reliable transportation Able to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable performing repetitive vacuuming and floor work Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and clean throughout the shift Must be able to pass a background check Please indicate in your application whether you are interested in the Cleaner position, the Supervisor position, or either role.
