Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Childcare Center Closer/Cleaner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, cleanliness, and smooth closing of our childcare facility, creating a welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. Your commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety protocols, and classroom organization will help foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere for young learners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of children while supporting a dynamic team dedicated to early childhood education excellence. Fixed schedule- 2pm-6pm or 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday. Paid holidays. Weekends off. Your children are welcome to come with you while you work, 6 weeks- 8 years old. Great for a college student looking to pick up some hours after class. Responsibilities Safely close the childcare center at the end of each day, ensuring all areas are secure and compliant with safety regulations Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, play areas, restrooms, and common spaces in accordance with health standards Perform routine safety checks on equipment, furniture, and play structures to identify maintenance needs or hazards Assist with child supervision during transition times and ensure all children are accounted for before closing procedures begin Communicate effectively with staff regarding daily activities, incidents, or concerns related to children's safety or classroom environment Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state regulations Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, safety inspections, and incident reports as required by licensing standards Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development instruction and classroom management techniques Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus Familiarity with pediatric first aid and CPR certification is advantageous; certification must be maintained current Strong understanding of child supervision practices and behavior management strategies Previous roles involving childcare, nannying, babysitting, or daycare center experience demonstrate valuable skills for this position Ability to communicate effectively with parents and team members while adhering to confidentiality standards This role is integral to creating a safe, clean, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
