JOB GOAL
Provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient building in which to learn, play and develop.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports. Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned. Such alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT
Possession of a valid Idaho Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
includes the following or other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Board, or designee: Clean and maintain and maintenance of all boilers and other major equipment. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Assist in snow removal. Complete requisitions and receive supplies and equipment. Maintain necessary inventory of all supplies. Layout and schedule work for other custodians. Assumes general responsibility for security and fire safety of building. Monitors all heating and cooling systems. Assists in keeping the building and premises neat and clean at all times. Ability to perform light plumbing, electrical and sprinkler repair. Maintains building safety program and trains custodians on proper techniques. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Superintendent and/or board may deem necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a person with a disability to perform the essential functions.) Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 60 to 75 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important job aspects.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of classified employees.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
All classified employees of the Minidoka County School District #331, including those in this position, are "at will" employees, meaning employment may be terminated by either the employer or employee at any time for any reason, consistent with applicable state or federal law.
