A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

We are looking for a Part Time building porter for two different facilities. 5 days a week, daytime hours for a 4hr shift. 8am-12pm then drive to another nearby facility for 2 more hours. Typically 12:30-2:30pm. This 2 hr shift is 6 days per week (off on sunday) Porters ensure that all types of buildings are neat, clean, free from clutter and safe. Porters will pick up trash, sweep, mop, vacuum, or use industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, clean and stock bathrooms. The position is responsible for maintaining of cleanliness and presentation, while creating a positive, safe and organized work environment Chemicals Operate chemical dispensing units Properly measure chemicals that are not provided in dispenser form Understand how to read MSDS sheets Properly label chemicals Wear proper PPE when working with chemicals Physical Functions Required Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Possible exposure to chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment. Ability to use motorized equipment. Ability to read and comprehend safety material and facility required documents.
