What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Janitor (Bilingual - Spanish/English Speaker)
Location:
Lombard, IL 60148
Schedule:
One 1 Part-Time Position Available ONLY Saturday AND Sunday 6:00 pm - 12:00 am
Pay Rate:
$18.00 /
HR Key Responsibilities:
This job description provides a general overview of the role; management may assign other duties to meet operational needs.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and other common areas. Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, stalls, and fixtures. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize high-touch surfaces. Empty trash bins and recycling containers; replace liners as needed. Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Maintenance & Inspections:
Report repair or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor. Assist with minor tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, or touch-up painting. Conduct regular inspections to ensure spaces are clean, orderly, and safe.
Groundskeeping & Setup:
Keep entryways, walkways, and outdoor areas free of debris. Assist with clearing snow, leaves, or trash as needed. Help prepare rooms for events, activities, or meetings by arranging furniture and equipment.
Supply Management:
Monitor and restock janitorial and restroom supplies. Maintain a clean and organized supply storage area. Communicate supply needs to the supervisor for ordering.
Safety & Security:
Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning products and equipment. Report any safety hazards or security concerns immediately. Support emergency drills or procedures as directed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual in Spanish and English (required). Prior custodial/janitorial experience preferred, especially in schools or large facilities. Knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment. Ability to safely operate custodial machinery (e.g., vacuum, floor buffer). Strong attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods. Benefits Offered Health Dental Vision 401
