A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

GSA Rockford Typical Duties:
Clean, sanitize and restock bathrooms including sinks, toilets, glass and mirrors, stall walls, stainless steel and sweeping and mopping floors. Vacuum, sweep, mop floors and stairs. Empty trash and various recyclable cans and replace liners, clean receptacles, as necessary. Dust and clean office areas, desks and furniture that are not cluttered. Clean windowsills and windows. Obtain tools necessary for the job to be completed. Clean break rooms and other areas that are applicable to the contract. Expected to safely operate equipment. Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers. Continually performs duties with a special focus on safety, quality and customer service.
Physical requirements:
Lifting and carrying Walking, mopping, bending.

Must be 18 years or older Pass criminal background checks and various state/federal registry checks.
