Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Worker to join our healthcare or institutional facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, visitors, and residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial skills, experience in environmental services, and a commitment to safety and sanitation standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall well-being and safety of our facility's environment. Duties Perform routine cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Ensure all surfaces, floors, and fixtures are maintained in accordance with sanitation standards and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines. Handle waste disposal safely by removing trash and biohazard materials following proper protocols. Maintain floor care through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure a hygienic environment. Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning materials to ensure continuous availability. Follow detailed cleaning schedules and document completed tasks accurately. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during all cleaning activities to ensure safety compliance. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or institutional settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to environmental services and cleaning procedures. Experience with hospital or healthcare environment sanitation is advantageous. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers, extractors, and vacuum cleaners. Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
