A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Tippecanoe Valley High School is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail -oriented individual to serve as a Part-Time Night Shift Custodian. This full-time position plays a vital role in preparing our school each evening for the next day's learning by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Rate of Pay:
$14.20/hr. starting pay, 29 hours/week, 4-5.75 hours/day Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, cafeteria spaces, gymnasiums, and other common areas. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and perform general custodial duties throughout the building. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste properly. Perform routine building maintenance and report maintenance concerns promptly. Assist with setup and cleanup for athletic events, school activities, and special events. Operate custodial equipment and cleaning tools safely and efficiently. Secure the building by ensuring doors, windows, and designated areas are properly locked. Follow all district safety procedures, policies, and custodial protocols. Perform other duties as assigned by administration or custodial leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred but not required. Ability to lift, carry, push, and move equipment and supplies as needed. Ability to work independently while managing time effectively. Strong attendance and dependability. Ability to successfully pass a background check to work in a school setting.
