Position:

EVS Aide Pay Rate:

$16.80/hr

Duration:

12 weeks

Expected Shift:

40 hrs/week Full-Time | 1st Shift | 6:00 AM

• 2:30 PM Every other weekend required Holiday rotation required

JOB SUMMARY IMPORTANT CALL OUTS

• 12-week Temp-to-Hire opportunity.
• Candidates MUST be interested in permanent employment.
• Manager is willing to train candidates with transferable custodial, housekeeping, or janitorial experience.
• Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holiday rotation.
• Opportunity to evaluate the role before transitioning to permanent employment.
• Interviews will take place on-site with management team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous Environmental Services, housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience required.
• Healthcare experience welcomed but not required.
• Hospital-specific EVS processes and workflows will be taught during training.

CERTIFICATIONS

• None required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to follow infection prevention and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Desire to work and learn.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to approximately 35 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and push/pull equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, public areas, and clinical spaces.
• Follow infection prevention and environmental cleaning protocols.
• Collect and dispose of regular and biohazardous waste.
• Transport and collect soiled linen.
• Restock supplies in assigned areas.
• Operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Follow all IU Health and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other Environmental Services duties as assigned.
