Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Essential Duties:
Clean and maintain warehouse, production, office, break room, restroom, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces. Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, toilets, fixtures, and high-touch areas. Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated collection areas. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and other janitorial equipment. Refill restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Clean spills and maintain walkways and work areas free of debris and hazards. Assist with cleaning around warehouse equipment and work areas while maintaining required safety clearances. Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report spills, damage, unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, or other hazards to the appropriate supervisor. Work safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, carts, and other warehouse equipment. Collecting corrugated cardboard from packing and work areas. Emptying cardboard gaylords, recycling bins, and balers before they become full. Operating or feeding cardboard balers (if trained and authorized). Keeping recycling areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Transporting cardboard to designated recycling or compactor areas using pallet jacks or carts. Cleaning around packing stations, walkways, and work areas. Responding to spills or debris that could create safety hazards. Replacing trash liners and maintaining waste and recycling stations. Following safety procedures and wearing the required PPE. The Material Mover is responsible for transporting, organizing, and distributing janitorial supplies, equipment, waste containers, and other materials throughout the facility. This position supports the Janitorial/Custodial team by ensuring that cleaning supplies and equipment are available where and when they are needed while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Transport janitorial supplies, cleaning chemicals, paper products, trash bags, and other materials throughout the facility. Move waste, recycling, and collection containers to designated areas for removal or disposal. Deliver and restock janitorial supplies in assigned areas, restrooms, break rooms, and other facility locations. Operate material-handling equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, dollies, and tugger machines, when trained and authorized. Load, unload, and safely transport materials while following proper lifting and handling procedures. Assist custodians with moving cleaning equipment, supplies, and materials as needed. Maintain organized storage areas and ensure supplies are properly stored and accessible. Inspect materials and equipment for damage or safety concerns and report issues to a supervisor. Follow all Amazon facility safety procedures, PPE requirements, chemical-handling procedures, and traffic rules. Maintain clear aisles, walkways, emergency exits, and designated storage areas. Complete assigned material-moving and janitorial support tasks according to established schedules. Communicate with custodial supervisors and team members regarding supply needs, material movement, and facility conditions. Operate equipment only after completing required training and authorization. Perform other janitorial support and material-moving duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a janitor, custodian, cleaner or housekeeping position preferred Frequent walking, pushing carts, lifting bundles of cardboard (often up to 30-50 pounds), bending, and standing for most of the shift Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals Must have reliable transportation INDSJ
