A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The Custodian position is classified as a supporting department for the Regional Care Group network. The incumbent hired will represent Regional Care Group network on official communications. Position Purpose We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment at two of our Head Start Centers. Training will be done at our corporate center located at 8400 Louisiana St. Merrillville, IN.

Monday-Friday 2:00pm -10:30pm

Essential Functions:

Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to disposal area Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies Assist with setting up and breaking down facilities for events Notify management of any repairs needed

Requirements:

High School Diploma Reliable transportation, valid driver's license/insurance Candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug screening Candidate must be able to provide professional references
