Job Description

Sign on Bonus Available Powers Health is hiring for Environmental Services in Munster, IN. Under the direction of the Environmental Services Director, the environmental services assistant services the facility to assist in providing a clean, attractive, safe environment for patients, visitors and hospital staff.
Environmental Service Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:
Performs all basic cleaning necessary to keep assigned areas in accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation Standards.
Duties can include:
sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, vacuuming, and spot cleaning floors. Clean and polish surfaces. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces. Collects and transports medical waste or clean/dirty linen. Cleans windows, changes window treatments and cubicle curtains, washes walls. Must maintain all environmental services equipment, which includes floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners. Cleans and disinfects patient rooms during hospital stay and after patient discharge. Assists in the control of pests, such as rodents and insects by reporting to the maintenance department. Restock all sanitation products in assigned areas. Moves furniture or heavy objects to provide pathway for cleaning purposes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. No experience required. Able to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions given in English.
