Evening Hours 6pm to 12pm Monday - Friday Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitorial Worker to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic, well-organized, and meet sanitation standards. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients alike. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient workspace through diligent cleaning practices and maintenance routines. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning tasks, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct custodial duties including trash removal, dusting, window washing, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces to maintain optimal hygiene standards. Operate various cleaning equipment efficiently while following safety protocol adherence to ensure safe handling practices. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to the appropriate department for resolution. Support industrial cleaning or commercial cleaning projects as needed, demonstrating versatility in custodial responsibilities. Follow safe lifting practices during heavy lifting activities and manual handling of supplies or equipment to prevent injuries. Qualifications Proven janitorial experience or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and proper use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following chemical handling safety procedures. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks and general upkeep responsibilities. Prior Porter experience or residential painting background is a plus but not required.
