A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Maintains facility in a clean and orderly manner by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates forklift as needed to move non-production items. Maintains break and rest room areas in clean and sanitary condition. Empties cardboard container and binds them with binding machine. Cleans shop hallways with automated floor sweeper and by hand when necessary. Cleans all office spaces. Restocks all hand towel, air deodorizer, toilet paper and hand soap dispensers. EXPERIENCE
High school education preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends as required by union contract. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
