Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our premises. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain spotless floors and surfaces. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting surfaces to ensure sanitation standards are met. Assist with light maintenance duties including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and facilities upkeep as needed. Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe working practices. Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages promptly. Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or residential settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the proper use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by adhering to chemical handling safety procedures. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout each shift. Customer service-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
