A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

- Reports to management any violations of USCG regulations, Louisiana Gaming Commission regulations, or unsafe conditions as it pertains to riverboat gaming.
- Participates in training with the deck crew on emergency procedures, safety, seamanship, and other programs.
- Ensures that safety equipment is provided, and appropriate guidelines are followed for all tasks involving physical risk or hazardous materials.
- Performs various tasks involved in the maintenance and upkeep of vessel and equipment. This includes heavy duty and detailed cleaning of the casino floor.
- Sweeps and vacuums carpeted areas; extracts or shampoos carpets on a scheduled basis.
- Cleans all brass and marble.
- Assists regular shift team members in maintaining restrooms and casino floor.
- Operates extractor equipment, floor scrubbers, shampoo machines, and polishing machines, as well as special vacuum cleaners and scrubbers.
- Carries out heavy duty detail cleaning of restrooms and locker rooms.
- Moves office furnishings and items as directed.
- Cleans interior and exterior windows above 6 feet off the ground as directed.
- Maintains logs for equipment usage.
- Assists with inventory of all stockroom items received from the warehouse to ensure proper quantities and quality.
- Delivers supplies to vessel.
- Responsible for the cleaning of all housekeeping equipment.
- Maintains cleaning supply inventory and identifies damaged bottles and/or drums for replacement.
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in marine, housekeeping, or janitorial industry preferred.
- Previous experience using a hi-lift preferred.
- Must have knowledge of floor cleaning equipment.
- General knowledge of cleaning solutions, shampoos, strippers, and wax.
- Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Must have effective communication skills; must be able to speak and understand English.
- Ability to safely work on elevated surfaces via the use of scaffolding and ladders.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
- Must have the ability to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations.
