JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, the Part-Time Cleaner / Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas throughout the facility. This role supports a safe, organized, and professional work environment by performing routine and deep cleaning tasks while adhering to health and safety standards. The position is part-time with a flexible schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning & Facility Maintenance Perform thorough cleaning of offices, restrooms, hallways, lobbies, and other designated areas using appropriate tools and supplies. Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping, buffing, and polishing. Dust flat surfaces including walls, window frames, machines, and equipment. Clean breakroom sinks, refrigerators, and countertops. Clean bathroom sinks, toilets, and fixtures to maintain sanitary conditions. Janitorial Duties & Sanitation Remove trash, replace liners, and periodically clean trash containers. Clean windows and disinfect high-touch surfaces to promote health and safety. Restock restrooms, breakrooms, and other designated areas as needed. Maintain locker exteriors and common areas in a clean, orderly condition. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain awareness of safety and security by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours. Respond promptly to spills or cleaning needs to maintain a safe environment. Administrative & Other Duties Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility cleanliness and operations.

SCHEDULE & WORK CONDITIONS

Part-time position with a flexible schedule. Work is performed in office and industrial environments, including breakrooms and restrooms. May require occasional work outside normal hours depending on facility needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Strong commitment to safety. Strong attendance and reliability are required. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be detail-oriented and thorough when performing tasks. Ability to adapt and respond to cleaning needs, spills, or emergencies as they arise. Ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively. Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety practices is required. Previous janitorial or cleaning experience (1 year or more) preferred.

PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and move materials up to 30 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Ability to work in environments that may include dust, noise, and varying conditions.
