A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

GENERAL DUTIES

1. To be assigned duties which will include the cleaning of the facilities as outlined by the Building Head Custodian, Facilities Manager, Building Principal or Business Manager. 2. To perform other general duties which the Building Head Custodian, Facilities Manager, Building Principal, or Business Manager may require.

QUALIFICATIONS 1.

Experience as a custodian 2. Knowledge of some of the skills of the building trades is desirable 3. The ability to lift heavy objects such as book cartons and furniture.

Per Union Contract
