A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to cleaning floors/classrooms/restrooms, collecting trash, material handling, and light maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Requires high school diploma or its equivalent.2. Familiarity with facilities maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures, previous experience (5 years) in a custodial position is desired.3. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of HVAC control systems.4. Must have a valid Mass Driver License.5. Must be able to lift/transport heavy loads and work nights and weekends.
