A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Responsibilities:

Deep clean furniture, equipment, partitions, walls, etc. Clean and disinfect sinks, counter-tops, floors, toilets, mirrors, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc in classrooms and restrooms. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or hand scrub floors using brooms, mops and vacuum cleaners. Wipe down walls and woodwork, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, etc. Operate cleaning equipment and use designated chemicals and other cleaning products safely and in accordance with instructions. Self starter
