Job Description

The P&C digital printer II is responsible for accessing computerized art files and printing them onto prepared materials and accessories. This level of printer will be trained to print on the vin, DTX and Chroma plating printers. The Digital Printer II is also responsible for programing and operating laser cutting systems from specifications including drawings and/or written instruction. Operate a variety of tools including motorized and non-motorized hand tools. Monitor and control the quality of cutting process by utilizing appropriate quality control tools. Maintain the production processes and work within the expected standards and efficiencies that are established for the product line.

  • 7:00 am
  • 3:30 pm Monday
  • Friday with Overtime (Saturday 7am
  • noon) as required.
LOCATION
  • 270 Samuel Barnet Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745 On-site only; remote work is not available.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Setup and cut components for orders on laser equipment ensuring all parts meet manufacturing requirements. Responsible for quick turnaround of components and accuracy within established guidelines. Perform visual and dimensional inspection on components using various measuring tools. Maintain organization of orders and material. Participate in team continuous improvement activities. Read and interpret manufacturing instructions and other technical documentation. Comfortable with PC base graphic software. Prepare material for printing. Access computerized art files and print onto prepared material. Apply heat seal to backs of printed materials. Print images on materials and accessories. Pressing of decoration on material. Preparing accessories for printing. Assembling decorations for production. Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus but not required. Knowledge of other relevant computer software and systems. Excellent attention to detail. Must have an eye for color. Good technical ability. Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Good problem solving skills. Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. Must possess initiative, energy, and drive. Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers and management. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to read, write and understand English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience as a laser operator preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to reach and use hands, fingers, and arms. Ability to move about the facility. Ability to climb, bend, kneel and crouch. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to moderate noise level.
VISION REQUIREMENT
Close and distance vision. Color vision. Peripheral vision. Depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Closed toe footwear is required when entering the Production Floor.
