What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

NIGHT/WEEKEND CUSTODIANFULL-TIME

SCHOOLSaturday Sunday 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m.Monday Wednesday 2:00p.m. 10:30p.m.
Reporting directly to the Head Custodian, performs routine work relating to the maintenance and repair of the school building facilities as assigned; performs all other related work, as required.
Essential duties include:
general cleaning, painting, general repairs to plumbing/electrical/carpentry, replacing broken windows, checking boilers, and monitoring supplies.The position requires moderate physical effort. The employee is required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; the employee is frequently required to stand, kneel, walk, sit, speak and hear, and use hands to operate equipment and use hand tools.
Salary and Benefits as per the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
