A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

OBJECTIVE

To clean, following schedules and by assigned tasks on

P.R.I.D.E.

Inc. property and in community work setting.

Hours:

Monday thru Friday, 7:30am-2:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

HS diploma or

GED EXPERIENCE

Experience in commercial cleaning.

SKILLS / ABILITIES

Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 lbs. repeatedly.
Ability to work standing and moving throughout shift.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to interact effectively with people.
Ability to physically perform janitorial duties, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, rest rooms, etc
Ability to recognize areas needing cleaning
Ability to follow a daily routine

DUTIES:

1. Provide daily janitorial maintenance of the facility and assigned off sites, including mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning (including rest rooms) and such. 2. Complete assigned tasks and assure accepted cleanliness standards are met. 3. Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, organized manner, which facilitates productivity and safety. 4. Maintain and assure quality of all assigned jobs by following quality control procedures. Follow a daily maintenance routine. Maintain a safe and clean environment in the facility and all assigned off site locations. Maintain records of work performed on and off site. Ensure accurate documents showing all completed work performed. 8. Perform other duties as deemed necessary. Essential job duties are in Bold Type.
