Job Description
Sanitation Worker
JOB SUMMARY
Participates as a member of the Retail Services Team with primary responsibility for preparing server and dining room as well as serving food. May also prepare and serve catered functions. May interact with patients of all ages on a rare occasion who come into the department. Continually develops knowledge and skills, as appropriate, for patients of any age including neonate, toddler, school age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in addition to the terminally ill patients.Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Performs all daily cleaning assignments as per work flow.2. Performs all weekly cleaning assignments as per cleaning schedule.3. Works in dishroom, scrapping trays, loading and unloading dish machine and sorting silverware.4. Records dish machine and pot water temperatures, takes necessary corrective action if temperatures fall outside of proper range.5. Sweeps and mops floors.6. Cleans tables, counters and various types of kitchen equipment which may include: steam tables, yogurt machine, beverage machines, refrigerators, slicer, grill etc.7. Removes trash from department and transports to disposal area maintaining levels in department.8. Receives food deliveries and stores products in appropriate areas rotating stock according to policy.9. Delivers floor stock to all floors while maintaining par levels and fills requisitions as needed.10. Delivers patient late trays to the ED and other patient units when requested and does so in a timely fashion. Work ExperienceWork Orientation and Experience:
- Prior experience in food service preferred.
- The incumbent may require up to 2 months of detailed job orientation and training to gain specific capabilities to perform essential job functions.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work well under time constraints.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Ability to read and understand English is essential.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to use basic math skills.
