Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies Handle chemical agents safely while following all chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness and floor care Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely, including moving furniture or cleaning supplies in accordance with safe lifting practices Maintain cleanliness by performing routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces Follow all safety protocols during custodial activities to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support overall campus upkeep and cleanliness Qualifications Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial cleaning environments Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor buffing, sanitation procedures, and chemical handling safety procedures Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums is advantageous Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting with proper safety practices Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within tight schedules Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude for interacting professionally with staff and visitors Familiarity with facilities maintenance or porter experience is a plus but not required This opportunity is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a clean and safe campus environment while gaining valuable custodial experience.
