What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Evening Shift Terms of Employment:

Non-Exempt Salary Scale:
AFSCME UA, Grade 3-4 https://www.ccboe.com/careers/salary-scales- Evening hours to be determined based on the school assignment.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and write effectively.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor.
- Good verbal communications and human relation skills.
- A willingness to work overtime as required in cases of emergency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cleans and cares for floors.
- Collects refuse both inside and outside the building.
- Dusts and cleans walls, windows, ceilings, and equipment.
- Cares for exterior of building and grounds.
- Assists in receipt and relocation of supplies and equipment.
- Regular on time attendance.
- Performs related duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Operations or the School/Building Principal.
