A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Porter
Habitat America, LLC is seeking a Part Time Porter in Salisbury, Maryland for Village at Mitchell Pond Apartments for approximately 20 hours of work per week. Applicants who are qualified for this position have basic maintenance experience. Experience with appliance repairs, general carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, drywall and painting are a plus. It is imperative that the Porter be able to work independently and also as a member of a team. This position is responsible for keeping the building and grounds clean and assisting the Maintenance Technicians when needed. In addition to grounds, the position will assist with technical maintenance tickets, assist with unit turnovers and be part of the after-hours on-call rotation. The Porter directly reports to the Community Manager. Hourly wage is dependent on experience. - Basic maintenance experience is desired; experience painting, drywall, basic electrical & plumbing are a plus
- Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
- Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition
