A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System Trustees and the MSEA Supervisory Services Bargaining Unit. Salary Range 18 ($48,360 - $57,408).
Responsibilities:
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning and maintenance operations of campus facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position supervises custodial staff, coordinates work assignments, and ensures that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with established standards. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Custodial Supervisor performs routine custodial and groundskeeping duties, supports campus events, maintains supply inventory, and ensures compliance with safety and security procedures. The role plays a vital part in supporting the overall appearance, functionality, and operations of the college. Responsibilities include training, coordinating and assigning cleaning duties and special events work to custodial workers and performing their duties when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree with 5 years of custodial and relevant experience in custodial or maintenance arena including 1 year of supervisory experience. Why work for the Maine Community College System?
