Immediately Job Description This is a 40 hour per week benefits eligible position. The work schedule for student days will be 2 pm - 10 pm Monday through Friday although the schedule may be altered during vacations, holidays, and other non-student days as needed by the Facilities Director, Head Custodian, or their designee. Candidates will be required on occasion to come in early due to weather conditions, work overtime, weekends, and holidays when business needs require it. Candidates will need to be available to travel to all District locations as required. This is a non-inclusive listing of the job duties of this position: 1. Learn the major building system and how to complete basic troubleshooting 2. Clean hallways, classrooms, bathrooms, offices, gyms, walls, and other areas as assigned by the Head Custodian 3. Remove trash and recycling from the building and place in the proper containers 4. Clean then sanitize and/or disinfect desks, bathrooms, and high touch areas 5. Check and restock paper products in bathrooms as needed 6. Change ceiling tiles and light bulbs as required 7. When required, assist with snow removal and ground maintenance 8. Perform deep summer cleaning at the schools 9. Move furniture when necessary 10. At the end of the shift, check the exterior doors to be sure that all exits are locked and secure 11.
Additional Winter responsibilities:
a. During days of snow accumulation, make sure that the walking surfaces are cleared of snow by using a snow blower, shoveling, and treating surfaces b. Throughout the shift, regularly clear snow and ice from school exits to allow safe exit and entry 12. Provide information on repairs or issues to the head custodian on a regular basis. 13. Respond to after hours building issues when necessary 14. Communicate via written notes, e-mail, phone, and text messages with the Head Custodian, Facilities Director, and Principal/Assistant Principal when necessary 15. Complete necessary safety inspections as required 16. Other tasks as directed by the Head Custodian, Facilities Director, or their designee
