A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
CUSTODIAN - LUNCH - PART TIME ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Custodial duties include all phases of setup/teardown of lunch tables and cleaning of tables and floors. Light maintenance duties and security responsibilities throughout the building. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required Ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents Knowledge of basic cleaning and disinfecting procedures Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow directions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to push items of 50 pounds, such as pushing equipment, or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 20 Hours/Week, based on 52 week custodial calendar
