In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies. Conduct floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a professional appearance. Handle janitorial duties including trash removal, restocking supplies, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces to promote hygiene and safety. Assist with light maintenance tasks like minor repairs or reporting larger issues to facilities management. Support industrial or specialized cleaning projects as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness standards by following established procedures for cleaning schedules and safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members to ensure the facility remains organized, safe, and welcoming at all times. Requirements High School graduate Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings. HVAC operational knowledge or experience preferred Boiler operational knowledge or experience preferred Building security system experience preferred Small engine/mechanical operational knowledge or experience preferred Good working knowledge of general maintenance and housekeeping Demonstrated knowledge of proper use of cleaning materials, cleaning implements and associated equipment Physical ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. or more Ability to work well with staff, students, and parents Ability to work independently, be self-directed and follow guidance of Maintenance Supervisor Light mechanical work as needed Grounds duties as needed Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing. Experience with industrial cleaning and facilities maintenance is preferred. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward cleanliness and safety. Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently during scheduled shifts. Physical ability to perform cleaning duties that may involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving supplies for extended periods.
