As a Day Porter Janitor, you will be responsible for performing a variety of custodial tasks with enthusiasm and attention to detail, contributing to a positive and professional atmosphere throughout the day. Your proactive approach will help uphold our high standards of cleanliness and safety while providing excellent customer service to everyone who enters our premises. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to ensure a spotless environment. Handle cleaning chemicals safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Conduct light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and touch-up painting to support facility upkeep. Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices and safety protocols. Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and sanitation products to maintain operational readiness throughout the shift. Respond promptly to cleaning requests or issues reported by staff or visitors, providing courteous customer service at all times. Ensure all areas meet sanitation standards by following established health and safety guidelines, including proper chemical agent handling. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools. Ability to handle chemicals safely by understanding chemical handling safety procedures. Physical capability for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and standing or walking for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward maintaining cleanliness standards. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach when interacting with staff and visitors.
