The EVS Floater is responsible for providing professional environmental cleaning and sanitation services at various medical facilities throughout Canton, Dearborn, Farmington, and Southfield . This position is ideal for a dependable and flexible individual who is comfortable working at different locations based on operational and staffing needs. The EVS Floater will help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff while following established infection-control, safety, and facility procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized cleaning and disinfecting of assigned areas within medical facilities. Clean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, waiting areas, common areas, and other designated spaces . Follow proper procedures for cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces. Safely handle and dispose of trash, waste, and regulated materials according to facility procedures. Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, mops, and other EVS equipment . Perform floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning. Follow all required infection prevention and control procedures . Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to manufacturer and company guidelines. Respond to cleaning requests and provide coverage when staffing needs arise. Travel between assigned facilities in Canton, Dearborn, Farmington, and Southfield as directed. Maintain professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, healthcare personnel, patients, and visitors.

Floater Expectations:

Because this is a Floater position , employees must be willing to: Work at different medical facility locations based on business needs. Adjust to varying facility layouts, procedures, and staffing requirements. Provide coverage for call-offs, vacancies, vacations, special projects, and staffing shortages . Maintain reliable transportation and the ability to travel between assigned locations. Report to assigned locations on time and ready to work. Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling and work assignments.

Qualifications:

Previous healthcare, EVS, janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required . No experience? We will train the right candidate. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment. Ability to safely perform physical cleaning duties.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and occasionally climb stairs. Ability to push and pull cleaning equipment and carts.
