Job Description

Job Title:
Janitor Job Description We are seeking dedicated janitors to join our team, working across 1st to 3rd shifts at our Ferndale location, specializing in the production of hummus and salsa. The work environment is within a food and beverage setting, with most areas being cold due to refrigeration requirements. Responsibilities Remove trash from production areas and sanitize trash cans and receptacles before returning them to the floor. Remove cardboard from production areas, clean and sanitize cardboard carts or bins before returning them to the floor, and keep recycling and non-recycling waste streams separate. Sweep and remove debris regularly, pick up trash and debris from the floor, and squeegee any puddles or standing water at least once per hour in all areas. Clean and sanitize all internal employee doors and door frames at least once per shift. Maintain sanitation tools in good working order, store tools properly on designated 5S boards, inspect tools regularly and escalate to supervisors when replacements or repairs are needed, and ensure all tools are clean and sanitized before and after use. Essential Skills Experience in a janitorial or housekeeping role. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Capability to stand on feet for 8 hours. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is situated in a food and beverage environment, primarily within cold areas due to refrigeration needs. Employees must be comfortable fully suiting up in appropriate PPE, including lab coats, hair nets, and beard nets when in food areas. Work shifts include 6am
  • 2:30pm, 2:30pm
  • 11pm, and 10:30pm
  • 6am, from Monday to Friday, with mandatory Saturdays and potential Sunday shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ferndale, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00
  • $15.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
