Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Night Custodian to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of our facilities during second shift hours. This vital role involves performing thorough cleaning routines, operating custodial equipment, handling chemical agents safely, and maintaining a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Operate various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures for storage, mixing, and application to ensure safety for yourself and others. Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment. Follow all safety protocols related to custodial work and chemical handling to prevent accidents or injuries. Support sanitation efforts in common areas, restrooms, and kitchens while ensuring compliance with health standards. Requirements Proven custodial or janitorial experience with knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures. Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following established safety procedures. Physical capability for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards. Basic understanding of facilities maintenance or general upkeep is preferred. Customer service skills are a plus for interacting courteously with staff or visitors if needed.
