What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Report to Custodian Supervisor Check work emails Check work orders and complete( Needs to be marked complete on SchoolDude) Professionally communicate with staff members Give the Second shift report before leaving Disarm alarm & unlock doors for staff members Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for the assigned facility Dusting, Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping Operate floor equipment such as an auto scrubber, side-by-side, carpet extractor, and vacuum Setting up the lunchroom and cleaning after every lunch Keep equipment cleaned, and contact the supervisor for any machine issues Empty Trash Receptacles General cleaning of furniture, windows, window sills, and walls Stocking restrooms, janitorial closet, and break rooms Setting up and cleaning after events Light building maintenance Locker maintenance and change of locker combination General snow removal/ lawn care as needed Completing the school run Make a schedule for summer, fall, and winter cleaning( List of rooms and halls with date to complete) Make a supply list and email it to the Supervisor
