Custodian Summary/Objective The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the facility. This role ensures that all areas are properly cleaned and maintained to support daily operations and provide a welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and guests.

PM Compensation:

Starting at $18.00 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour shift premium for working the afternoon shift. Custodian Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces. Clean and restock restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas. Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste and recyclables. Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repair needs. Maintain cleaning equipment and report any issues or needed supplies. Follow safety guidelines and proper use of cleaning chemicals. Secure facilities by locking doors and windows after working hours (if applicable). Respond to cleaning or maintenance requests in a timely manner. Support set-up and breakdown for meetings, events, or other activities as assigned. Demonstrate ability to work successfully in a team based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, and accountability Model for Thoroughbred culture Custodian Preferred Experience + Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Strong attention to detail and reliability. Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safety practices. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods. Work Environment The employee is subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. The employee may be subject to fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Required to stoop, kneel and crouch. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
