Assistant Cook/Custodial ServicesTitle Dual Role:
Assistant Cook/Custodial Services Location Alden-Conger School Description The School District is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Assistant Cook to support daily food service operations. This position plays an important role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students while maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety, and professionalism. The Assistant Cook may be asked to provide leadership support in the absence of the Head Cook. The Assistant Cook is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:- Assist with food production, preparation, and service according to established menus and recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and food service spaces in compliance with health and safety standards
- Follow all food safety procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Provide courteous and respectful customer service to students, staff, and visitors
- Comply with all federal, state, and local school nutrition program regulations, including accountability and record-keeping requirements
- Properly use, operate, and care for kitchen equipment and tools
- Support and promote the goals and mission of the school district
- Maintain confidentiality of student and family information, including records related to free and reduced-price meal eligibility
- Maintain confidentiality regarding district business, staff matters, and work-related conversations
- Work collaboratively and effectively with nutrition staff, school staff, community members, and others
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude in all interactions
- Provide direction and guidance to other nutrition staff as assigned and/or in the absence of the Head Cook
- Secure and maintain required food safety certifications (Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate)
- Assist with additional cleaning or custodial/maintenance responsibilities focusing on food service areas and/or other assigned district locations as needed to support efficient operations.
Typical Schedule:
7:00am-1:30pm (food service, during school year) and 1:30-2:00pm (custodial responsibilities, school year). Summer Schedule is up to 35hrs/week with flexibilityStart Date:

Requirements Physical and Work Requirements- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds from one location to another
