A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Flexible schedule, work as you are needed and as you are available, M-F, year round ISD 876 offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week (130 hours per month average over a 9 month period). This position averages less than 30 hours per week and does not qualify for benefits.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Head Custodian, the Custodian performs environmental service tasks, cleaning and maintenance of school buildings, minor mechanical repairs, and support services for day and evening school activities.
