A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Days/Hours:

5 days a week/ 8 hours per day (from 2:00pm to 10:30pm OR 2:45pm to 11:15pm)

Salary:

$19.00/hr.

Responsible To:

Head/Lead Custodian;

Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor Position Purpose:

Substitute custodians will assist in a variety of custodial and maintenance duties as assigned. See attached for custodial job description.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent Boiler's license preferred but not required Previous experience as a custodian preferred Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. Able to work for extended periods of time walking and standing
