A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Summary:
The lead custodian is responsible for providing a safe and clean environment for the students, staff and public. The lead custodian will problem solve in the Head Custodian's absence and to provide work direction, guidance and assistance to other Custodians. Main point of contact for community groups and other public entities in the evening/weekend during events in assigned building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead Custodian helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment for students, staff, and the community. This position performs custodial cleaning and minor maintenance, coordinates evening cleaning operations, provides day-to-day work direction to custodial staff, and serves as the primary contact in the absence of a Head Custodian. Responsibilities also include setting up and supporting building events, monitoring building systems and security, maintaining custodial supplies and inventory, assisting with shipping and receiving, supporting snow and ice removal to ensure safe building access, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Specialist "C" Boiler License issued by the MN Department of Labor and Industry (or ability to obtain license within 12 months) Valid MN Driver's License High School Diploma or GED Able to lift up to 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally Able to walk continuously and stand frequently Posting closes: Internally 7/29/26, Externally open until filled Apply online at https://www.applitrack.com/sartell/onlineapp/default.asp Final job offer is contingent upon a criminal background check and board approval.
