A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeps building neat and clean at all times. Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by building principal. Performs specific cleaning/maintenance duties. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Adheres to the policies of the Board of Education. Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Maintenance or Administrators Experience in waxing and floor maintenance preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

12 months, full-time. A two-week notice is required in writing by employee or employer when position is vacated.
