Completes special projects as assigned, including assisting with supervision of employees performing project work. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists supervisors with planning and implementation of projects within assigned areas. Assigned to cover custodial II and custodial lead positions on occasion. Assist with determining personnel and equipment allocation requirements for specific projects. Write work procedures and documents associated with efficiency and quality. Schedule resources for and track special projects. Assist the Supervisor with technical specification for supplies and equipment. Evaluate new processes and procedures. Assist with daily cleaning in buildings as needed. Legally and safely operate a motor vehicle as necessary. Climb ladders; up to six (6) feet. Deliver equipment and materials as requested. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the safety and security of the building. Remove snow and ice from exterior walks as required, ensuring safe pathways to school. Legally and safely operate motor vehicle as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to understand and know how to use supplies and equipment via material safety data sheets. Ability to execute defined work assignments. Ability to evaluate and solve problems in the absence of supervisor. Possess interpersonal skills that enable the employee to interact with children, staff, parents and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to perform necessary cleaning procedures to complete assigned duties throughout assigned location. Ability to recognize common safety and health hazards. Ability to stoop, bend, twist, lift and move equipment and supplies, including lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion and 20-30 pounds repetitively. Ability to climb ladders as needed; up to six (6) feet. Ability to wear job-appropriate personal protective equipment.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
GED or high school diploma. One to three years' prior custodial experience. Knowledge of the hazardous communication system (MSDS). Math skills sufficient to handle manufacturers' labels instructions for dilution of chemicals used in cleaning. Ability to read and understand manufacturers' warning label information. Knowledge of written and verbal communication techniques. Knowledge of the practices, materials, methods, equipment, tools and science of custodial tasks. Knowledge or principles of planning, supervision, team building, leadership and work place relationships. Possess valid driver's license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Within the school building. Outside of school buildings, including in inclement weather. Work performed during evening shift. Must be flexible, able to report to various school sites, including within the same shift, and when necessary, various shifts or days of the week, including weekends. This position is very active and requires the physical ability to enable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, sitting, talking, hearing, twisting, reaching, and lifting throughout each shift.
