Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Industrial Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized industrial environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of large-scale facilities, handling cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely, and supporting overall maintenance operations. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a productive and safe workplace, fostering a positive environment for all team members. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across industrial facilities, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain high standards of sanitation. Operate various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure optimal floor care and cleanliness. Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols for storage, mixing, application, and disposal to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs, painting (including residential painting), and general upkeep to ensure operational efficiency. Maintain safety protocol adherence by using personal protective equipment (PPE), following chemical handling safety procedures, and reporting hazards promptly. Provide excellent customer service by assisting team members with custodial needs and responding promptly to cleaning requests or issues. Skills Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments with janitorial or custodial expertise. Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and the operation of cleaning equipment like floor buffers and scrubbers. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following all safety protocols related to chemical handling safety procedures. Physical strength and stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times. Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and understanding custodial requirements. Basic maintenance skills including minor repairs, facilities upkeep, and residential painting experience is a plus.
