What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Summary Perform building and grounds maintenance and repair as assigned by the Head Custodian or building Principal. Essential Duties/Responsibilities 1. Cleaning building including mop, sweep, vaccuum, dust, polish, and maintain floors. 2. Help with summer building cleaning and maintenance. 3. Building security after school and during evening events. 4. Help with snow and ice removal.
Minimum Requirements:
Education- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Custodial experience preferred Knowledge
- Stripping, waxing, and sealing floors
- How to properly clean spaces Skills
- Able to use cleaning, waxing, buffing, appliances and tools Physical Requirements
- Heavy lifting up to 50lbs
- Moving furniture
- Sweeping and mopping
- Climbing a ladder
