Job Summary:

Custodian Performs routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and order of County buildings. Work includes sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and restocking supplies in a variety of public facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Clean and maintain assigned areas: Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize restrooms, offices, and hallways.

Refill supplies and restock dispensers:

Replenish paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.

Empty trash and recycling receptacles:

Remove waste safely and transport to designated disposal areas.

Clean windows and glass surfaces:

Wash and polish glass doors and windows for visibility and appearance.

Assist with special cleaning projects:

Perform deep cleaning and seasonal maintenance as scheduled.

Operate cleaning equipment safely:

Use vacuum cleaners, buffers, and other cleaning machinery per instructions.

Respond to cleaning requests:

Provide prompt cleanup services as needed.

Maintain building security:

Lock and unlock facilities and report any safety concerns.

Ensure safety and hazard control:

Follow OSHA and County safety protocols while handling chemicals. The individual in this role is expected to contribute to the team's efforts by completing other related tasks, as may be assigned.
