Independence, MO Job Details Full-time $15 - $20 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications Landscape maintenance Outdoor work experience Sanitation Property maintenance Waste transport Full Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Apartment Porter to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of an apartment community. This position is responsible for keeping common areas and outdoor spaces clean, removing trash, assisting with basic maintenance, and helping ensure the property remains safe and presentable for residents and guests. Main Duties Cleaning Common Areas Sweep, mop, and vacuum lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and elevators Clean and maintain laundry rooms and other shared spaces Keep common areas neat, clean, and presentable Trash Removal Collect garbage and debris from common areas Maintain and clean trash rooms and dumpster areas Take trash and recycling bins out for scheduled city pickup Help keep the property free of litter and debris Property Upkeep Maintain the appearance of exterior grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and courtyards Pick up trash and debris around the property Assist with general groundskeeping and seasonal cleanup Help maintain clean and organized outdoor areas Light Maintenance Replace light bulbs and perform basic upkeep tasks Assist maintenance staff with minor repairs and general property needs Help prepare vacant apartments for new residents Report larger maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns to management Resident & Team Support Maintain a professional and friendly attitude when interacting with residents Assist residents and property staff with general requests when needed Work closely with the maintenance and property management teams Complete additional duties as assigned Qualifications Previous cleaning, janitorial, porter, groundskeeping, or apartment experience is preferred but not required Reliable and dependable Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors Able to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently Professional and friendly attitude Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in various weather conditions when performing outdoor duties
Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
