What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff
- Assign tasks to staff and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Train new employees on proper cleaning procedures and safety protocols
- Inspect work of employees to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained
- Address any issues or concerns raised by employees and provide guidance and support as needed
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and ensure they are properly maintained
- Communicate with management about any building maintenance issues or potential improvements
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to cleaning and safety protocols
- Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to employees
- Clean certain areas of the school that is assigned
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning services
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and address issues quickly
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently This role will require working closely with another employee, overseeing their work and ensuring that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the facility.
